NEWS: GROWTH4BLUE Officially Launched in Patras: A Strong Start for Blue Economy and Transnational Cooperation

The Kick-off Meeting of the GROWTH4BLUE project took place on 18-19 December, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Region of Western Greece (Lead Partner) in Patras, bringing together representatives from regional authorities, academic institutions, professional associations as project partners from across the Adriatic-Ionian region.

During the event, Mr. Fokion Zaimis, Deputy Governor of the Region of Western Greece, emphasized the importance of GROWTH4BLUE for advancing the Blue Economy in the Adriatic- Ionian area. He highlighted the expected economic and environmental benefits for local communities through the project’s implementation.

GROWTH4BLUE aims to support the transition towards a sustainable and competitive blue growth model by fostering innovation, strengthening workforce skills, and promoting cooperation among institutions and enterprises. The project leverages digital tools, training activities, and joint strategic planning to boost impact and ensure knowledge transfer across borders.

The event served as the first opportunity for in-person collaboration among project partners and stakeholders, marking the start of a dynamic implementation phase and reaffirming the key role of regional authorities and the academic sector in shaping a resilient Blue Economy.
